Where to Stay

Below are some recommendations, by area and cost. Click the titles to follow the links to the accommodation website. Whilst the venue may be in the Disney/Lake Buena Vista area, we suggest staying around International Drive (especially if it's your first time or if you do not plan to hire a car).

TOP RECOMMENDATIONS

Rosen Plaza: One of my favourite hotels in the Orlando area. With a pool bar, on site club, 24 hour snack bar, and central location- it is perfect. Due to it being a main hub for conferences, the hotel can be pricey or sold out. We will be based here from 5th - 15th. ($$$)

Sheraton Vistana Resort Villas: Next to the Wedding Venue, and across the Highway from Disney this Resort could be perfect. With 1 or 2  bed apartments, this resort could accommodate those with kids or those sharing with others. With on-site facilities including a bar, restaurant and mini market, plus shuttle service to Disney parks. Better for those with car rental. ($$$)

Disney Resorts: If you've got the cash to splash, Disney Resorts offer some of the best hotels around. Extremely close to the wedding venue, Disney offers many different hotels aimed at kids and adults.  Check the Disney World website for more information. ($$$$)

Universal Studio Resorts: Universal/Islands also offer onsite hotels, such as Cabana Bay, Aventura, and Endless Summer. These are great value and allow easy access to the parks. ($$$)

Located on International Drive, the Avanti is a resort with several onsite facilities. With a gym, a cafe and a games room - the resort has plenty amenities. Easy walk to and from restaurants and bars, as well as the International Drive tram. Extremely affordable, great deals on booking.com. Not to be confused with Avanti Palms.

Prefer to stay in a villa, there are many choices from Celebration, Championsgate, Davenport, Southern Dunes, or Kissimmee (due to laws there are no rentals in the Orlando city area). You can use a number of website, and if your stuck feel free to contact us for some suggestions. Although Villa's are better with car rental, it is possible by just using Uber, depending on the area you choose. TUI & Virgin offer package deals that include flights, bus, villa rental, car rental etc. Otherwise, you can use Airbnb, booking.com, or "LICENSED ORLANDO VILLAS" Facebook group.

For those wishing to book flights and villa separate - Click here for some suggestions on villas I have found via Licensed Orlando Villa Facebook Page.

A classic in the Orlando area, the Rosen Inn at Pointe Orlando is in the midst of International Drive. With onsite facilities such as three pools, a gym, coffee shop, bar, restaurant and free shuttle service. The hotel has a number of rooms with mini fridge. Located 15 minutes from Venue, and surrounded by bars, clubs, food and close to Universal Studios. Would highly recommend.

Looking for the fun of International Drive, with the self-catering style of a villa. Then these apartments may be what you're looking for. Offered on the TUI website as a package holiday, the hotel has a central spot on International Drive. It’s just 15 minutes from the theme parks, which there’s a regular shuttle bus to and from. When you’re not in the parks, you can relax by the swimming pool.

Located on International Drive, the Hyatt Regency Orlando is a resort hotel with pools, bars, restaurants and more. Located further south of International Drive, past the Rosen Plaza, the Regency requires walking/tram for most amenities International Drive has to offer. Rated as one of the best hotels in Orlando, the Regency offers clean rooms, great amenities and a central location.

Orlando's original Luxury Hotel, the Hyatt Grand Cypress is located next to Disney and the amenities of Lake Buena Vista. This luxury hotel hosts a magnitude of amentities from Splash Zone, rock climbing, kayaking, its own beach, swimming pools, mini-golf, actual golf, water slide, spa, games room, and free transport to both Disney and Universal. Not to forget several restaurants and bars, pool bar and on site market. You could not possibly need more. One of the closer to venue options.

"WASTING AWAY IN MARGARITAVILLE..." honourable mention for the Jimmy Buffet classic. Whilst the location may not be ideal for International Drive, the resort has everything any adult/couple needs. Booze. Margaritas at the Salty Rim anyone. Whilst kids are allowed within the hotel, the hotel does offer an adults only pool. The hotel is also next to "Sunset Walk" a shop/play/eat area where you can relax and dine.

Okay so first things first, if you want to do 7-14 nights here then that's up to you, it is pricey. The reason it gets a mention here is due to it's handy lil hack. You may have seen on the tips page my mention of Fastpass for Universal/Islands. Now, in order to obtain the hack you MUST have Universal/Island tickets already - these are not free. If you do have them, then booking an overnight stay at the Hard Rock Hotel may a great hack for you. The cost of an overnight stay ranges, however on average $250. Fastpass Express(depending on month) costs around $250.00 pp. 1 overnight stay could be the cost of a 1 day express ticket. Now the thing is, with an overnight stay you are allowed 2x Express Pass days. This means the day you check in, you can go to reception, ask to leave your bags and take the passes. As well as the day you check out. So on an assumption you have 2x adults and 2x children, for a 2 day Express pass it will cost you $2000, but an overnight stay (where the fastpass is free) will cost you $500. Bargain? I think so.

It's always best, in my opinion, to book the hotel for free cancellation on booking.com. This means, once you get there, if the parks are not that busy you can cancel your stay. This trick also works at Lowes Portofino Bay Hotel and Lowes Royal Pacific Resort.

If you don't stay here, you should still visit. The resort is located down near Disney, and has to be seen to be believed. The rooms may face outside the hotel or into the centre, where the waterfalls, sports bar, Starbucks, and restaurants are located. The hotel also has many outdoor facilities such as outdoor cinema, pool, splash pad, flow rider and water slides. This resort would be best paired with car rental due to the lack of facilities within walking distance.

If you like the high life then Ritz Carlton is for you. With 11 bars and restaurants, swimming pool, cabanas, golf course, lazy rivers, spa and tennis court - you'll certainly be living the high life for the price you pay. Located near South John Young Parkway, the location would require car rental for park access. Although still within reasonable Uber cost for International Drive.

With balconies the 1-and 2-bedroom suites add full kitchens with washer/dryers, separate living areas and whirlpool tubs. Amenities include 2 outdoor pools, a kids' splash pool, a fitness center and a game room. There's also a poolside restaurant, a casual pizza place, a snack bar and a market/deli. International Drive hotel, with amenities, and family suite options. Includes outdoor pool, shuttle to parks, pool bar, lobby bar with coffee options. Great for those not looking to splash too much cash, and especially those planning to spend all day in parks. This hotel is a great place to rest your head for the long park days.

Similar to the Hilton Grand, the resort is close by to Disney, Vineland Outlets, and wedding venue. The resort hosts 2 to 3 bedroom, every suite includes a full kitchen, dining room, living room, washer/dryer, private balcony & more. Pool and shuttles service, as well as access to the I-Ride trolley taking you to International Drive. Games room, splash pad, beach area, poolside bar, cafe and marketplace. A great budget option, and located on International Drive (although further down than most bars). This hotel is ideal for those saving money. Located next door to an IHOP, McDonalds and Denny's, with onsite mini market, laundry facilities and shuttle service.
